Eid-el-Kabir: Tinubu, Akpabio call for peace, unity, sacrifice

President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria’s Senate President Godswill Akpabio have urged Nigerians to embrace unity, sacrifice, and compassion as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

In separate Sallah messages released on Tuesday, the leaders called on citizens to use the festive season to pray for peace, national progress, and stability.

They also encouraged Nigerians to support ongoing government reforms and extend kindness to the less privileged in society.

President Tinubu, in his Eid-el-Kabir message to the Muslim faithful in Nigeria and around the world, said the significance of sacrifice associated with the celebration reflects the economic difficulties Nigerians have faced in recent years under his administration’s reform agenda.

According to the president, the sacrifices made by citizens over the past three years have started yielding positive results, noting that the country now enjoys a more stable economy and increasing investor confidence.

Senate President Akpabio in his message to Nigerians also stressed the need for tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and collective responsibility in addressing the nation’s challenges.

He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to building a united and prosperous country, insisting that the values of sacrifice, love, and unity are essential for national development.
