‎The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured the interim forfeiture of a lounge and a 4 bedroom bungalow located in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged fraud case involving about N1.98 billion.

‎The order was granted by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin following an application filed by the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the anti-graft agency.

‎According to the EFCC, the court held that the Commission had satisfied all the necessary legal requirements for the interim forfeiture of the properties.

‎The affected properties are Town Tavern Lounge located at No. 1, Ikere Road, off Florence Court School, Ado-Ekiti, and a 4 bedroom bungalow situated along Florence Court, Irewolede Estate, Ado-Ekiti.

‎The commission alleged that the properties belong to Olorunbukunmi Taiwo, 43, who is accused of defrauding a woman identified as Lady Anazia Colina Kenechukwu of the sum of N1,980,000,000.

‎The EFCC said the interim forfeiture forms part of ongoing investigations into the alleged fraud case reaffirming its commitment to recovering proceeds of crime and ensuring that individuals involved in economic and financial crimes are brought to justice.
