EFCC arrests Man for alleged Land fraud in Enugu

Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested one Ifeanyi Mba for an alleged N10,000,000 (Ten Million Naira) land fraud.

The suspect was apprehended following a petition alleging that he collected the said sum for a piece of land located at Plot 677 Owo/Premier Layout in the Ogui Nike community of Enugu State. The petitioner later discovered that the land was being developed by unknown persons.

According to the petitioner, when he confronted the suspect regarding the development, he was informed that the property belonged to the government. Subsequently, all efforts to recover the money proved abortive as the suspect remained incommunicado.

Preliminary investigations by the EFCC revealed that no layout bearing the name Plot 677 Owo/Premier exists within the government-acquired areas, noting further that Owo and Premier are two separate layouts.

The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
