Operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 40 suspected internet fraudsters in Niger State.

According to a statement released by the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the suspects were apprehended following credible intelligence linking them to internet-related fraudulent activities in Bida and Minna.

Items recovered during the operation include three cars, eight power-generating sets, one Hisense air conditioner, two power stabilizers, ten motorcycles, eight laptop computers, four Bluetooth speakers, and 60 Android phones.

Also recovered were fetish items, including three calabashes adorned with feathers, locally made soap and sponge, a bottle of alcoholic drink, 20 cowries, a waist bead, and four women’s underwear.

The commission stated that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
