E-Money arrested: EFCC investigates naira abuse claims

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended Emeka Okonkwo Daniel, popularly known as E-Money, over allegations of Naira abuse. Newsmen report that E-Money was arrested at his Lagos residence on Monday night by EFCC operatives.

He's accused of spraying US dollars, an act considered an offence under Nigeria's Foreign Exchange Act, which may have led to the defacement of foreign currencies. The EFCC has initiated investigations and plans to prosecute E-Money in court once the inquiry is concluded.

According to Newsmen, E-Money has been taken to Abuja for further questioning by EFCC investigators. The alleged Naira abuse reportedly occurred at a Lagos social event, though details of the event remain unclear.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale declined to comment, but credible sources within the commission confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation.
