Pelumi Olajengbesi, the Spokesperson for the Imole 2026 Campaign, has revealed that his recent interrogation by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Osogbo was centered on allegations of abusing the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, and a federal lawmaker, Hon. Wole Oke.
In a statement released after his visit to the Osogbo office of the secret police on Facebook, the legal practitioner disclosed that the investigation was triggered by a petition reportedly sponsored by Hon. Oke and signed by individuals from his local government.
Olajengbesi stated that he was accused of using abusive language against the political leaders, but he maintained that his remarks were legitimate critiques of their public service records.
Addressing the interrogation, Olajengbesi said he made his position unequivocally clear to the operatives, doubling down on his stance that the Oyetola administration was incompetent and left behind significant challenges for the people of Osun State.
He further argued that the emergence of Oyetola’s ally, Mr. Oyebamiji, as the APC gubernatorial candidate was merely an attempt to continue that incompetence, which his campaign is actively working to prevent.
Regarding Hon. Wole Oke, who represents the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, Olajengbesi asserted that after 24 years in the National Assembly, it is legitimate to ask hard questions about his impact.
He characterized the lawmaker’s tenure as being focused on self-interest rather than the development of the people, stating that the constituency is ready for a new direction.
“The DSS was unable to see what is criminal about my actions and advised that we take it easy,” Olajengbesi noted, commending the agency for its professionalism and neutrality.
“They are civil servants operating under the law, and I respect their right to investigate complaints, even those I consider pity-seeking,” he added.
Olajengbesi further revealed that he urged the DSS to also investigate Hon. Oke, noting that he has provided them with video evidence of the lawmaker allegedly threatening citizens.
“He who has seen 99 can no longer be scared of 100,” he concluded.
