Drama as Kano Pillars fans clash with referee after Shooting Stars equaliser

Chaos erupted at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata today as Kano Pillars supporters and officials stormed the pitch after Shooting Stars of Ibadan scored an equaliser during their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash.

Video footage circulated online shows members of the Kano Pillars camp confronting match officials, forcing a temporary halt to proceedings.

The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from football fans across Nigeria, many of whom took to X.com (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration.

@eduwakin commented: "That's what has been holding our league from moving forward like other counterpart nations; home must win syndrome. Let's wait and see how the league body will treat this matter."
