Customs: Shuaibu succeeds Wada at FOU Zone ‘B’ Kaduna

In a graceful transition ceremony, Mr Chedi Wada, the Comptroller of the Federal Operations Units (FOU) Zone “B” of the Nigeria Customs Service, has officially handed over to Mr Ahmadu Shuaibu.
The event, held in Kaduna on  Wednesday at the unit’s office , marked a pivotal moment in its history as it embraced a new leadership.
During the handover, Wada commended the giant strides made during his tenure, emphasizing that the unit’s strengthened operations and enhanced collaboration with sister agencies.
He lauded the unwavering dedication of the unit’s staffers and expressed gratitude to the media for their objective coverage, saying that it was vital in projecting the unit’s image.
In his response,  Shuaibu acknowledged Wada’s exemplary leadership and pledged to build upon the foundation laid, emphasizing the need for teamwork and a commitment to national security.
He affirmed his belief in the collective progress of Nigeria and vowed to uphold the service’s mandate with diligence.
The ceremony garnered support from various stakeholders, with Mr Sani Killa, Chief of Staff to Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State praising Wada’s integrity and urging him to continue his impactful work wherever he goes.
The various stakeholders who spoke re-echoed sentiments of appreciation for Wada’s dedication and wished him success in his new national assignment.
Mr Bashir Rabe-Mani, urged Wada to sustain his patriotic service and conveyed well-wishes for his new assignment.
He said, ”As the baton passes from one capable leader to another, the FOU Zone “B” stands poised to maintain its unwavering commitment to safeguarding national interests and fostering collaboration for a brighter future.”
 Wada has been redeployed to the NCS Headquarters, Abuja, as the Comptroller, Enforcement.
Shuabu was until his redeployment to the FOU Zone ‘B’ Kaduna, was the Comptroller, Ogun Area Command II, Idi-Iroko.

Alimi upbeat on Remo Stars’ NPFL title chance

Remo Stars forward Sikiru Alimi believes the team has all it takes to win the Nigeria Premier Football League title.

The Sky Blue Stars, who have garnered 53 points from 31 matches, are four points behind league leaders Rangers.

Alimi is however optimistic about Daniel Ogunmodede’s side winning their first NPFL title.

“Of course Remo Stars have all it takes to win the NPFL table,” he told Remo Stars Media.

“With the right motivation and hard work it can be done.”

Remo Stars will take on former champions Rivers United in their next game.

Confluence Queens get commendation for NWFL Super Six feat

Nigeria Women Football League side Confluence Queens have received commendation for securing a Super Six playoffs ticket.

The club chairman, Abdullahi Isah Dolly, commended the players during a visit to their training camp on Monday.

Dolly said the team has performed beyond expectations.

He, however, charged the players to redouble their efforts towards achieving success at the NWFL championship playoffs.

He also gave out a cash gift of N100,000 to the team for their achievement.

“I really want to thank you all for making our Super Six dream a reality,” he stated during his visit.

“The technical crew led by Sabo Okala has done a wonderful job. I’m proud of you coaches, my players, the team manager, thank you for your efforts. The back room staffs were also not left out.

“I promise to do more to ensure we have a good outing at the Super Six, your welfare is our major priority, I will continue to put more efforts.”

Let’s join hands with him – Adepoju canvasses support for Finidi

Former international Mutiu Adepoju has canvassed support for the newly appointed Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George.

Finidi was named head coach of the three-time African champions on Tuesday.

The 53-year-old was one of the assistants to former head coach, Jose Peseiro.

Adepoju also congratulated the former winger on his appointment.
“Congratulations to my brother, Finidi George for getting the final nod as @NGSuperEagles Head Coach.Let’s join hands and wish him the best of success,” Adepoju wrote on X.

Finidi’s reign will begin with the Super Eagles’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin in June.
