Custodian, linkage assurance lead gains as ASI climbs 1.08%

The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a positive note, with the benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) rising by 1.08 percent to settle at 146,981.17 points. The gain reflects renewed investor confidence, supported by strong performances in the financial, industrial, and energy sectors.
Equity market capitalization increased to ₦93.48 trillion, while the Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) market gained 0.46 percent to close at ₦33.35 billion. The fixed income market also recorded a marginal rise, finishing at ₦52.58 trillion.
Top gainers for the day were led by Custodian and Allied Plc, which surged 10 percent to close at ₦38.50, and Linkage Assurance Plc, also rising 10 percent to ₦1.76. Oando Plc gained approximately 9.96 percent to close at ₦43.55, National Aviation Handling Company Plc (Nahco Aviance) rose 9.96 percent to ₦106.55, while Legend Properties Plc advanced 9.96 percent to settle at ₦5.74. The uniform growth across these top performers highlights robust investor appetite in high-performing equities.
Trading activity remained active, with investors responding to sector specific developments and positioning ahead of anticipated corporate earnings and policy updates.
