Court grants Blord bail

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Nigerian entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, in an ongoing legal dispute with social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse.

Blord had been remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre since April 1 over allegations of impersonation, following claims that he used VeryDarkMan’s identity and likeness to promote his business without consent.

Presiding judge, Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, granted bail on liberal terms, ordering the defendant to submit his international passport, provide two credible sureties, and refrain from making public statements about the case.

The dispute, which has drawn widespread attention online, centres on intellectual property and identity misuse issues increasingly shaping Nigeria’s digital and influencer economy.

The bail secured after over two weeks in custody, the case is expected to proceed in court, as both parties prepare to argue their positions in what observers see as a test of legal boundaries in the country’s fast-growing social media space.
