Contractors mobilise to site as Ogun commences reconstruction of Akute-Lambe-Agbado road

Motorists navigating the deteriorated Akute-Lambe-Agbado road in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State can now look forward to much-needed relief, as construction firm Craneburg has mobilised to the site for full-scale reconstruction work.
This long-anticipated development marks a major stride in Governor Dapo Abiodun’s continued drive to improve infrastructure across Ogun State, aimed at easing daily commutes and enhancing living standards.
Heavy-duty machinery has begun arriving on site, with earthworks already underway across several segments of the road. Full construction is scheduled to follow without delay.
The comprehensive project spans multiple strategic points, including Akute Bridge, Oke Aro Stream and Agbado Bridge. Once completed, it will improve connectivity among the densely populated communities within the Ifo axis, a critical part of the state’s infrastructure network.
On-ground reports confirm that road grading and levelling are in progress, with SEM 920F motor graders and bulldozers actively shaping the roadbed. Construction of drainage systems and laybys is expected to begin shortly.
“Excavators and tipper trucks are already working to lay lateritic soil for the base course, with visible layering processes to enhance durability,” one eyewitness at the site observed.
This project forms part of a broader infrastructure agenda by the Ogun State government to boost mobility, encourage economic activity, and address longstanding infrastructural deficits.
Several roads in the area have already seen government intervention under the Dapo Abiodun-led administration, including the Akute-Ajuwon road in Ifo II State Constituency, the Alagbole-Akute road, Akute-Ijoko-Oke Aro road, Sango-Ijoko-Akute road, and Denro-Ishashi-Oluwakemi road.
Residents of Ifo Local Government Area are now set to benefit further from this sustained focus on road rehabilitation, with the Akute-Lambe-Agbado route poised to become a safer and more efficient thoroughfare for daily travel and commerce.
