China, India deepen strategic dialogue amidst global turbulence

In a significant diplomatic engagement, China’s Executive Vice Foreign Minister, Ma Zhaoxu, and India’s Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, concluded a new round of Strategic Dialogue in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The meeting focused on stabilizing one of the world's most complex bilateral relationships amidst what both sides described as profound changes in the international landscape.

Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to the consensus reached between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing that China and India should view each other as partners rather than rivals. A key outcome of the dialogue was a mutual agreement to support each other’s upcoming terms as the BRICS Chair for 2026 and 2027, respectively.

The two officials underlined the importance of strengthening the Global South and upholding a multipolar world order.

While territorial differences remain a point of management, the dialogue signaled a pragmatic shift toward deeper mutual trust and practical cooperation in international forums.
