Celestial Church leader stops Portable, Pasuma’s performance at praise night

Published

on

Olatosho Oshoffa, the Shepherd-in-charge of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, has strongly condemned the invitation extended to singers Portable and Pasuma to perform at one of the church branch’s praise nights.

The Celestial Church of Christ, Land of Goshen in Lagos, had on Wednesday, shared a flyer of its praise night featuring Portable, Pasuma and May Shua.

The announcement, however, triggered a wave of reactions from many Nigerians on social media. While some described it as disheartening, others wondered if the house of God was now a place of entertainment.

Reacting to the controversies on his Facebook page, Oshoffa said, “Dear Celestians, I have just spoken to the Shepherd in Charge of the above Parish at length. He has promised to make amendments to the posters.

“He has promised that the said contested artists would NOT come for the nights. There is no doubt the said poster is very CONDEMNABLE. God bless CCC. Amen.”

E-Money and his brother promise to cater for Junior Pope’s children till they grow up

Published

Singer Kcee has pledged that he and his brother, Emeka Okonkwo, aka E-Money, will assume responsibility for the late Nollywood actor, Junior Pope’s children till they are old enough to cater for themselves.

He made the pledge at the actor’s funeral in Ukehe, Nsukka, Enugu State, on Friday.

Kcee said, “On behalf of my brother, E-Money and our friends, I want to say sorry to the family. Junior Pope is a blessing to this generation. He is somebody that we will never forget in this generation.

“My brother is the godfather of his first son. The friendship we have with Junior Pope has been for ages. When the unfortunate incident happened, my brother said to me that we were going to take up responsibility for his three sons till they were grown.

“But we can’t do that without the support of the family. So we are saying it openly to the family, we are ready to take care of the three kids to any level they want till they are grown to cater for themselves. We will take care of their education, feeding, clothing, and holidays. We are not doing it to show off but to honour our friend’s dying wish for a better life for his children. And we took it upon ourselves that we are going to support this family to train these children.”

Junior Pope died on April 10, 2024, alongside three others after their boat capsized on the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a film location.

Nigerians across social media are now reacting to the clip of beggars seen appealing to people on TikTok for alms.

The video, which was generated from one of the live done by the beggars, went viral on Thursday and has since then been discussed among Nigerians.

In the clip, the lead beggar who appeared to be disabled directed two others behind him who could barely walk too.

He was seen rolling on the floor and begging for gifts on the app in the Hausa Language.
