Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Role Summary

The Chief Operations Officer will oversee the organisation’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that business processes, resources, and teams are effectively coordinated to achieve Nigerian NewsDirect’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily business operations and ensure alignment with organisational goals
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and accountability
• Coordinate activities across departments and monitor the execution of operational plans
• Identify operational challenges, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement
• Monitor resource utilisation, operating costs, and departmental performance
• Establish performance monitoring and reporting systems
• Support management in strategic planning, organisational development, and business growth initiatives
• Ensure effective coordination of administrative functions and compliance with approved internal procedures

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field
• Relevant experience in operations management, business administration, or organisational leadership
• Strong leadership, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams, manage competing priorities, and improve operational processes
