BOSCHMA unveils students’ health insurance scheme in Maiduguri

The Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA) unveiled a health insurance scheme for tertiary students at Kashim Ibrahim University in Maiduguri on Friday.
Dr Saleh Kaza, the Executive Secretary of BOSCHMA, announced the new product during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University, Prof. Babagana Gutti.
He said that the new product, the Tertiary Students Health Insurance Programme (TSHIP), was a healthcare initiative designed to provide students with access to quality and affordable healthcare services.
The executive secretary said that staff members would also benefit from a separate health insurance programme.
Kaza said that the importance of health insurance coverage, especially for students and staff of tertiary institutions, cannot be overstated.
He further stated the need for collaboration between BOSCHMA and the institution to ensure wider healthcare coverage and improved well-being for both students and staff.
Responding, Gutti expressed appreciation to the executive secretary and his team for the visit and the proposed collaboration.
He, however, assured BOSCHMA of the institution’s full participation and support toward the successful implementation of the programme within the university.
