Award-winning Servio Gbadamosi unveils release plans for new collection, Entropy

Noirledge Publishing has announced the release of Entropy, a new poetry collection by Nigerian poet and publisher Servio Gbadamosi.

The 118-page paperback collection, published in a 5.5 x 8.5-inch format, marks Gbadamosi’s third volume of poetry and continues his exploration of memory, spirituality, grief, nationhood and human endurance.

According to the publisher, Entropy examines the tensions between loss and renewal, silence and expression, history and identity, while drawing heavily from Yorùbá cosmology, African spirituality, philosophy and oral tradition.

The collection is described as an emotionally layered work that confronts uncertainty in both private and collective life, using poetry as a vehicle for reflection, healing and survival.

In a statement accompanying the release, Noirledge said the poems invite readers into “a landscape where sorrow becomes witness, language becomes survival, and every poem reaches toward meaning in the face of chaos.”

The collection has already attracted praise from prominent literary figures. Award-winning poet and scholar Tade Ipadeola described Gbadamosi as “a poet of the ineffable,” while writer and filmmaker Jude Idada characterised the book as “a must-read for earthly sojourners in search of answers to the questions silence hides in the deep crevices of the heart.”

Poet and scholar Tosin Gbogi also noted that the collection “reasserts and reminds us of the ethical role of art in times of crisis.”

Gbadamosi is the author of the award-winning collection A Tributary in Servitude, which won the Association of Nigerian Authors Poetry Prize in 2015 and was later shortlisted for the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa in 2018.

His second collection, Where the Light Enters You, earned shortlist nominations for the Association of Nigerian Authors Poetry Prize in 2021 and the Pan African Writers Association Poetry Prize in 2022.

Beyond his work as a poet, Gbadamosi is also recognised for his contributions to African publishing through Noirledge Publishing, the independent publishing company he founded.

Under his leadership, the company has published several acclaimed literary works, including Boom Boom and The Road Does Not End, both winners of the Nigeria Prize for Literature.

He has also led a number of literary and cultural initiatives, including The Poems I Love podcast, Laipo Magazine, the Noirledge Anthology Series and the rapidly growing Ìbàdàn Book and Arts Festival.

To commemorate the release of Entropy, Noirledge Publishing announced two public events featuring poetry readings, conversations with the author, book signings and audience interactions.

The first event is scheduled for May 23, 2026, at The Booksellers Limited, while the Lagos event will hold on June 13, 2026, at Alliance Française de Lagos.

The publisher said copies of Entropy are currently available through Noirledge Publishing and selected bookshops nationwide.
