Fresh details have emerged from an ongoing investigation into an alleged homosexual network, with reports indicating that some arrested suspects have identified a man, Ogunode Abiodun Emmanuel, as the alleged leader of the group.
According to information obtained from sources familiar with the investigation, the secret group was allegedly established around 2018 and gradually expanded to include several members who reportedly maintained close same-sex relationships among themselves.
The development followed the reported arrest of two suspected members, identified as Tope Alimi and Bayo Murakinyo, during an operation at an alleged homosexual gathering in Abuja in October 2024.
Sources claimed that information recovered during the investigation, including materials reportedly obtained from mobile devices belonging to some suspects, prompted security operatives to widen their probe into the activities of the alleged network.
Investigators were said to have received statements from some of the arrested members pointing to Ogunode Abiodun as a central figure in the group’s activities.
Efforts to apprehend the suspected leader have reportedly been unsuccessful, as authorities affirmed that he was probably out of the country as at the period.
However, intelligence reports allegedly indicated that he was later sighted somewhere in Ondo State in November 2024 with a revelation that Ogunode was married to a woman from another same sex group identified as Ogunode Ebunoluwa Eniola. Intensive surveillance and relentless efforts from security operatives are still ongoing, but unable to effect their arrest yet.
Sources involved in the investigation have called for continued efforts to locate and apprehend the suspected ‘bisexual couple’ as authorities seek to conclude their probe into the matter.
No official statement has been issued by law enforcement agencies regarding the latest claims, and the allegations remain under investigation.
