APM Terminals Apapa has reached a major safety milestone, recording 634 days without a Lost Time Injury (LTI), marking its highest safety achievement since inception.
The accomplishment highlights a strong culture of safety driven by collective responsibility among employees, contractors, visitors, and the trucking community operating within the terminal.
Central to this success is the unwavering commitment of the Safety team, whose consistent enforcement of standards and proactive measures have helped sustain a risk-free environment.
This milestone aligns with the company’s 2026 Global Safety Day theme, “We Are Safer Together,” reinforcing the principle that workplace safety is a shared duty rather than an individual effort.
Management emphasized that the achievement is not merely a statistical figure but a reflection of daily discipline, heightened awareness, and seamless teamwork across all operational levels.
As activities continue at one of Nigeria’s busiest ports, the focus remains on maintaining this high standard and further strengthening safety protocols.
Stakeholders are encouraged to continue prioritizing safety by watching out for one another and ensuring that every operation, from ship-to-shore, begins and ends without incident.
The terminal's leadership reaffirmed that the goal remains a permanent zero-injury environment through continuous training and strict adherence to international safety benchmarks.
