The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odu Ward 2, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, has suspended Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho over alleged anti-party activities.
The decision was contained in a statement issued after an executive meeting of the ward held on May 26, 2026. Party officials accused the senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District of repeatedly acting against the interests of the APC during previous governorship elections in the state.
According to the ward executives, Echocho allegedly engaged in activities considered detrimental to the unity and electoral success of the party.
They claimed his actions weakened the APC’s structure and affected its performance during key political contests.
The statement added that the suspension followed consultations among party leaders and stakeholders in the ward, who resolved that disciplinary measures were necessary to protect the party’s integrity and enforce loyalty among members.
The ward executives maintained that the action was taken in line with the APC constitution and internal disciplinary procedures.
However, the senator had yet to publicly react to the suspension as of the time of filing this report.
