The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State has set the price for expression of interest and nomination forms for local government elections, pegging chairmanship forms at ₦30 million and councillorship forms at ₦250,000.
The announcement was made by the state chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, during a meeting with the party’s 13 local government and 171 ward chairmen and secretaries in Abakaliki over the weekend.
Emegha said the meeting aimed to brief party executives on upcoming programmes and ensure that all members at the local and ward levels are well-informed.
He disclosed that sales of ward delegate and councillorship forms would start on January 8, while chairmanship forms would be available from January 9 to January 19. Primary elections for councillorship and delegate positions are scheduled for January 24, with chairmanship elections following on January 26.
“The delegates elected will be responsible for choosing the chairmanship candidates,” Emegha explained, adding that the party’s e-registration and revalidation exercise would commence soon and run for 30 days.
He urged party officials to ensure that Ebonyi records the highest turnout during the membership registration, emphasising that the state remains a stronghold of the APC.
