President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has won Saturday’s All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Rivers State by a landslide.

The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, who served as the State Collation Officer for the exercise, announced the results at the APC Secretariat in Port Harcourt.

He noted that the primary yielded a sweeping victory for President Tinubu, with the state delivering 280,082 votes.

The outcome has further strengthened perceptions that the APC is consolidating its political control over the state, which was previously regarded as a difficult opposition stronghold.

Governor Fubara stated, “Tinubu secured all 280,082 votes cast across the state’s 23 local government areas, while his opponent, Stanley Osifo, scored zero.”

According to the governor, although the APC has 297,068 registered members in the state, a total of 280,082 members were accredited and participated in the direct primary.

Tinubu swept virtually all the votes, while his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, failed to make any impact.

Fubara described the exercise as peaceful, seamless, and one of the most organized political outings in the state in recent times, attributing the success to effective coordination by party leaders.

“I am impressed with the conduct of the process and the orderly collation of results from across the state. The results accurately reflected the outcome of the exercise across Rivers State,” the governor said after reviewing the figures.

He added that the final declaration of the nationwide results would be made by the APC National Headquarters in Abuja.
