The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has declared a scheduled preventive maintenance exercise on the Osogbo–Ife 132/33kV transmission line, which will result in a temporary power outage in parts of Ondo State.
In a notice issued on Thursday by the GM, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the company disclosed that the maintenance will take place at the Osogbo–Ife 132/33kV Transmission Substation on April 16, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to notify the public of an ongoing scheduled preventive maintenance exercise at Osogbo–Ife 132/33kV Transmission Substation on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm,” the statement read.
According to Mbah, the exercise will enable TCN’s contractors to carry out local tests on the installed Remote Terminal Unit and the terminal current transformer, as well as the potential transformer at the protection point.
Consequently, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity for supply to the Ondo axis and the Okitipupa 33kV feeder for five hours.
“TCN apologises for the inconvenience this will cause electricity customers taking supply from this facility,” it stated.
