Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, will lead a 335-member campaign council mobilising support for the Accord Party candidate for the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Pelumi Olajengbesi, in the January 2027 House of Representatives election.
Adeleke was named patron of the council alongside the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye.
Olajengbesi, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the campaign council comprises political leaders, stakeholders, professionals, community leaders, women, youths, students and grassroots mobilisers from the constituency and beyond.
The campaign is seeking to unseat the incumbent lawmaker, Wole Oke of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who has represented the constituency in the House of Representatives for 24 consecutive years.
Olajengbesi served as spokesperson for Governor Adeleke’s re-election campaign during the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.
The campaign council has 20 sub-committees covering mobilisation, strategy, media, digital communications, research, legal affairs, election monitoring, finance, logistics, security, students, religious groups, party affairs and diaspora engagement.
“The Pelumi Olajengbesi Campaign Organisation is pleased to announce the constitution of the Pelumi Olajengbesi House of Representatives Campaign Council for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency.
“The Council brings together respected leaders, political stakeholders, professionals, community leaders, women, youths, students and grassroots mobilisers from across the Federal Constituency and beyond,” he said.
