Access Corporation, United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Zenith Bank topped trading on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), leading both volume and value charts according to official data released by the Exchange.

Access Corp led by volume with more than 1.63 billion shares traded, reflecting strong investor interest. However, its transaction value stood at ₦118.42 million, ranking below UBA and Zenith Bank on the value table.

UBA and Zenith Bank dominated the value segment, posting ₦1.50 billion and ₦1.72 billion respectively. UBA also recorded 133.77 million shares traded, while Zenith Bank saw 38.66 million shares change hands, reinforcing their appeal among investors.

Other notable volume performers included CONHALLPLC with 61.73 million units and CHAMS with 43.98 million units. By value, CONHALLPLC posted ₦32.88 million, followed by CHAMS at ₦24.60 million.

The strong representation of banking stocks across both metrics reflects continued investor confidence in the financial sector. Analysts noted that concentrated trading in Tier-1 banks may be driven by expectations of solid second-quarter earnings and consistent dividend histories.

The latest data points to sustained liquidity and robust participation in financial stocks on the NGX.
