Abuja honours Adeleke, Davido, names street after them

The Abuja Municipal Area Council has nominated Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state and his musician nephew, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, for the distinctive honour of naming a street after them, as a recognition of the governor’s outstanding contributions and commitment to laudable infrastructural development in Osun state.
The development which was conveyed in a letter dated April 15, puts Governor Adeleke on the famed list of eminent Nigerian leaders and public servants immortalised, which the street naming within the Abuja Municipality in the nation’s capital represents.
In the letter signed by Peter Ijwo and Dirijo D. Dahni, Director of Operations and Admin Officer respectfully, the council noted that “Your (Adeleke) endorsement was purely based on personal merit, hence in recognition of your outstanding contributions and commitment to laudable Infrastructural Development in Osun State, FCT-Abuja remains the epitome of our continuous corporate existence.
“The intent behind the naming of Street to achievers is to memorialize their efforts and to promote awareness of the individuals and express appreciation for their special contributions to Nation building.”
The council added that the governor’s nephew, Mr. David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, will have a street with the Abuja Municipality named after him, noting that, “To add to this honour, your nephew David Adeleke, who no doubt has been a character to be emulated by Nigerian youths due to his enormous contributions in the entertainment industry, has honourably been included in the nomination.
“Subject to your acceptance of this nomination, kindly confirm your formal acceptance.”

The ‘Daddy-wey-dey-pamper’ crooner disclosed this on his Instagram page.
According to him, the three signees are Godfrey Gad, Neeja and Son Music.
The globally renowned music minister who recently married his Ghanaian sweetheart Marie, had also this time last year gifted three cars to his barber and two artistes signed under his record label.
The kind gesture has attracted accolades from his followers and fans on social media, including his lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi.
Olajengbesi said: “This is an overwhelming moment.
“The gospel music community is truly witnessing the power of support and encouragement.”
reports that Moses Bliss who hails from Akwa Ibom State, is a songwriter and worship leader.
He released his first single “E No Dey Fall My Hand” in January 2017 and rose to prominence with the 2019 song “Too Faithful”.
In 2020, he won the Loveworld International Music and Arts Award (LIMA 2020), for his song “You I Live for”, an annual awards by renowned cleric Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

American hip-hop legend, Fat Joe has claimed that the commercial successes of some musicians are due to their support for the LGBT community.
The veteran rapper specifically stated that Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé are successful in the music industry because of their gay fanbases.
In a recent interview with Livebitez, Fat Joe lamented the escalating LGBT trend in the music industry, especially in hip-hop.
“It feels like a new trend. A new swag. A new style. Pain your nails, wear a female dress. This right? And a million others.
“But do you know the toughest one? I man’s own Rico. Young Thug was wearing skirts. It’s safe to say it’s a fad. It’s a trend. And guys are like I’m going to join the trend to go viral and sell more records.
“Historically the people who sold the most. Let’s just keep it a buck. Nicki Minaj… I went to Beyoncé’s concert which was a lot of fun.
“I had the best time of my life in there but it’s a lot. You know it and so that’s what’s going on.
“They [artists] say you know the LGBT [community] really supports you, so we gotta act like that [promote gay fashion].”

Popular singer, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, aka Kizz Daniel, has hailed the legendary 2Baba for his impact on his musical career.
