The Ogun Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has congratulated Christians in the state and Nigeria as a whole on this year’s Easter celebration.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Abeokuta by his Special Adviser, Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade,  Abiodun reiterated the commitment of his administration to forging ahead with developmental strides.

The Governor further called on Nigerians to look forward to a brighter future in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

“I acknowledged the sacrifices of Christian faithful through the sanctification, purification and 40-day Lenten period marked by fasting, abstinence, prayer, reflection and acts of charity amidst various challenges facing the country. These exercises would greatly assist in transforming the country spiritually and help it achieve great things,” the governor said.

Abiodun urged the Christians across the country to continue to pray for the government and fellow citizens in order to prevent evil people with diversionary tactics from prevailing .

He added that just like Christ prevailed over adversity, Christians must continue to pray for the country to overcome all challenges.

Congratulating Christians and other residents of Ogun, the governor said Easter represents renewed hope and aspirations as exemplified by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Abiodun said, “As we celebrate Easter, a time-honored tradition that symbolises renewal and hope, let us reflect on the profound lessons this holiday impacts,

“Easter, observed by millions, transcends its religious significance, offering valuable insights into the themes of love, forgiveness, and new beginnings.

“Easter commemorates the resurrection of the ‘Lord Jesus Christ’ the ultimate exemplary of sacrifice and submission to divine will.”

The governor added that Easter was a season that makes people look at the future with hope, enabled by God’s boundless grace and fully equipped with the resources of faith, love, and kindness for one another.

“As we celebrate this joyous occasion, let us carry forward the lessons of Easter, promoting unity and goodwill in the state, country and beyond. My administration will continue its developmental trajectory, which has put the state on a firm pedestal of development.

“This government will.continue to strive to provide the best for the people to raise the standard of living,” he said.
