The Omoluabi Movement, a prominent grassroots political organization in Ogun State, has formally launched an ambitious mobilization drive aimed at securing a clean sweep for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections.

In a detailed statement released Wednesday in Abeokuta by the State Director of Media and Publicity, Oluseun Joshua, the group reaffirmed its total commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while simultaneously backing the senatorial ambition of Governor Dapo Abiodun and the governorship bid of Senator Solomon Adeola.

This strategic alignment underscores the movement’s intent to consolidate the party’s influence across the state’s three senatorial districts through a structured and well-funded campaign apparatus.

To bolster its operational efficiency, the movement has deployed a fleet of 27 newly unveiled buses to facilitate coordinated engagement across various local communities.

The Convener of the movement, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, emphasized that this logistical expansion is paired with a significant social welfare component, as the group plans to empower over 30,000 registered members.

By anchoring its activities in the Omoluabi ethos of integrity and accountability, a philosophy the group notes was recently blessed and validated by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the movement seeks to bridge the gap between the political leadership and the citizenry through inclusive development initiatives.

Addressing recent public speculation, Akintunde clarified that this specific Omoluabi Movement remains a distinct entity with no affiliation to any similarly named groups associated with the former Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola.

He maintained that the name reflects a universal Yoruba concept of character and service rather than a tie to any outside political figure.

As the 2027 race begins to take shape, the movement is positioning itself as the primary engine for APC advocacy in Ogun State, focusing on building a culture of participatory democracy that ensures the party’s national and state assembly candidates receive overwhelming support at the polls.
