2027: Obasanjo, Sarafa pledge to support Adeola’s candidacy

Former Ogun Central Senator, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo and former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Ishola have pledged to support the Ogun state All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus gubernatorial candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.

This was disclosed during seperate consultation meetings in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

During a meeting at the Olusegun Osoba Hilltop residence, Senator Adeola met with Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, the former representative for Ogun Central.

Adeola committed to integrating her political vision into his governance agenda, emphasizing a policy of total inclusivity.

”I am ready to align with your manifesto and work in line with your vision,” Adeola stated, further assuring the former Senator that members of her political camp would be fully integrated into his campaign structure to ensure party cohesion.

In the same vein, Ambassador Sarafa Ishola, announced his formal endorsement of Adeola.

Ishola revealed that he has collapsed 24 of his grassroots support groups into the Adeola 2027 project.

Explaining his decision, Ishola noted that his move was driven by a desire to prioritize the collective interests of Ogun State over personal ambition.

He expressed optimism that this alliance would help end the tradition of divisive political transitions in the state, particularly noting that the current unity among Yewa stakeholders represents a historic opportunity for the region.

Responding to the endorsements, Senator Adeola expressed deep appreciation for the support of both leaders.

He described the ongoing consultations as a strategic effort to foster harmony and eliminate internal friction within the APC ahead of the 2027 polls.
