An APC House of Representatives aspirant in Kwara, Mr Abiola Abdulkareem, has pledged quality and valuable representation if elected in 2027.
Abdulkareem, who is vying for Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency seat, also expressed hope of free, fair and credible primaries by the party in the state.
He stated these while addressing his supporters in Omu-Aran, headquarters of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara on Thursday after obtaining the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms in Abuja.
Abdulkareem, popularly known as ‘Jagunlabi’, promised valuable and people-oriented representation, if elected.
The report states that the aspirant had, had last week, submitted his letter of intent to the APC State Chairman, Mr Sunday Fagbemi, at the party’s secretariat in Ilorin.
He said that the provision of a seamless process for every aspirant to show intention, collect expression of interest and nomination forms by party leaders was a clear indication that the primaries would also produce acceptable results.
Abdulkareem appealed to his supporters to remain calm and hopeful, while expressing the confidence and optimism that there would be light at the end of the tunnel.
He outlined what he called a robust and viable legislation through agriculture, infrastructure, social interventions, youths, women empowerment and human capital development for the people of his constituency.
Abdulkareem also pledged to consolidate on Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s security efforts by initiating legislation that would ensure a community-driven security architecture, combining traditional institutions, local vigilantes and intelligence-led policing for the safety of all communities.
The APC aspirant stressed that transparency, accountability and inclusiveness would underpin his representation, if given the opportunity.
He also pledged to evolve legislation that would strengthen local governments, in line with the recently-granted autonomy, engage traditional institutions as partners owing to their closeness to the grassroots.
“I will equally ensure that all my activities are guided by the general interests of the people,” he said.
The aspirant commended party leaders, elders, supporters and other stakeholders for their trust and belief in his ability and capability to be a reputable ambassador of the constituency.
