The Katsina State Government has vehemently debunked circulating reports suggesting that Amina Dikko Radda, daughter of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, is vying for a senatorial seat in the state.

The government described the claims as the handiwork of mischief makers operating a fake social media account to mislead the public.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Media Directorate of the Government House, the state administration clarified that neither Amina nor any of the Governor’s daughters is contesting for any elective position.

The disclaimer follows the discovery of a Facebook account named Amina Dikko Radda, which has been posting campaign materials and soliciting political support.

The statement read in part: "For the avoidance of doubt, the Government wishes to state clearly that the account is fake and does not belong to the daughter of His Excellency, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda."

"The person being impersonated, Amina Dikko Radda, does not operate any Facebook account or any other social media account. Members of the public are therefore strongly advised not to interact with the page or be misled by its posts."

The government further disclosed that it is collaborating with security and cybercrime agencies to identify the individuals behind the identity theft. It vowed that those responsible would be tracked down and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

The Media Directorate urged citizens to rely solely on verified government communication channels for authentic information regarding the Governor and his family, while commending vigilant members of the public who flagged the impersonation attempt.
