2027: Ex-Kwara CPS assures constituents of quality representation

The Kwara All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency and former Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Dr. Rafiu Ajakaye, has assured constituents of quality representation in the Green Chamber to improve the lives of the people.

Ajakaye made this known on Wednesday during a tour of Offa and Oyun Local Government Areas.

The thank you visit was organized to acknowledge the support and active roles of party faithful during the recent primaries.

While addressing supporters in Offa and Oyun, Dr. Ajakaye said he owes the people a debt of gratitude for endorsing his candidacy and believing in his capacity to advance their interests in the House of Representatives.

He pledged to serve their needs and remain accessible whenever called upon.

“We are here for three or four reasons, but the most important one is to thank the people of Offa and Oyun Local Governments again and again for their immense support.”

“I am here to show my gratitude and reassure them that I will be their son both in word and deed. I will do everything possible not to disappoint them and to justify the confidence reposed in me as the APC candidate. If elected, I will be their Aṣoju réré, a true representative. I will be there for them to deliver their message on the national stage. You have heard their assurances of total support for the APC, from the President down to the House of Assembly candidates, and for that, we are truly grateful,” he said.

Earlier, the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hon. Femi Yusuf, recalled pre-primary engagements with the people of Offa to solicit backing for the ticket, expressing gratitude that they honored the agreement.

He commended the Offa community for living up to its ancestral eulogy (Oríki), “Laare, buure, ikan ogbodo jukan nile Olofa Mojo” which reflects a deep commitment to equity, fairness, and justice.

“Our visit is to thank you, because we know the worth of your support and the confidence you have placed in our candidate, Dr. Ajakaye, who is your son and brother from Ifelodun.”

“I recall our visit two months ago to seek your backing. You played your part by respecting the party’s zoning arrangement, which rotated the House of Representatives ticket to Ifelodun. We cherish this and came to show our appreciation,” the chairman said.

Yusuf described Ajakaye as a God-fearing leader guided by Islamic principles that prioritize good governance, adding that the candidate possesses the drive to make a tangible impact if elected.

“This is payback time. Ifelodun has supported Offa and Oyun over the years, and it is only fair that both local governments reciprocate by backing a candidate from Ifelodun,” Yusuf added.

The Chairman of Offa Local Government Area, Hon. Suleiman Olatunji Omituntun, also stated that the people of Offa have resolved to deliver 100 percent of their votes to the APC in 2027.

“We have no doubts about Dr. Ajakaye, he is tested and trusted. Everyone knows the vital roles he played for our party and the administration, and I am confident he will not drop the ball.”

“Our votes will not be divided. We are determined to turn out en masse for Dr. Ajakaye and all APC candidates because we know this will benefit our constituency,” he said.

Former Majority Leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly and APC chieftain in Offa, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke, urged Governor AbdulRazaq and party leaders to reward the community with key appointments in the next administration, citing their consistent electoral strength.

Oyeleke noted that Ajakaye is a foundational party member who deserves full support, adding that the community has the capacity to deliver over 150,000 votes for the APC.

“My people from Ifelodun, mark my words today: Offa will deliver for your son and every APC candidate. Speaking of Dr. Rafiu Ajakaye, I have known him as a seasoned media professional since the early days of the Otoge struggle. I even had his number saved as ‘Lagos Reporter.’ His service to the party back then was largely pro bono, as we lacked funds to pay him, yet he dedicated his writing to shielding us from persecution,” Oyeleke narrated.
