Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor, extended warm greetings and urged unity, hard work, and patriotism as the state embraces 2026 in his New Year message to the people of Kogi State.

Governor Ododo thanked Almighty God for guiding Kogites through the past year and noted that 2025 tested the resilience of the state, but collective discipline and cooperation yielded “modest but significant gains” in security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth and women empowerment.

He reassured residents that his administration remains committed to “prudent management of resources, inclusive governance, and people-oriented development,” promising continued investments to improve the quality of life, empower women, create opportunities for youth, and strengthen the state’s economy.

On security, Governor Ododo stressed it will remain a top priority, pledging deeper collaboration with security agencies and community stakeholders to maintain peace across Kogi State. “Development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, and we will not relent in protecting lives and property,” he stated.

The governor also urged citizens to reject division and embrace cooperation, highlighting that the state’s diversity is a source of strength.

He reaffirmed his commitment to serve with integrity, transparency, and compassion, assuring that 2026 will be “a year of shared prosperity and greater accomplishments” for Kogites.

Also, Governor Ododo called for continued support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which he said has bolstered the national economy and provided more resources for the development of Kogi State.
