192 bag First Class as LASU holds 28th convocation

Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello on Thursday said 192 students would be graduating with First Class during the institution’s 28th convocation.

Olatunji-Bello stated this at a press conference to announce the 28th convocation ceremony scheduled for April 4 to 7th, 2025.

Of the 8,711 students graduating with first degree, 3,076 made second class (upper division), 4397 made second class (lower division), 228 pass and 17 with non-classified degrees.

According to the Vice Chancellor, “Besides the 162 doctoral degree awardees, he Senate of our University will confer Honorary Doctorate degrees in two eminent Nigerians. They are : Brigadier-General Buba Marea RTD. Chairman National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) and former Military Governor of Lagos State, for their invaluable contributions to the development of our University and the Nation at large. one of our long serving and esteemed academic, Professor Joseph Abayomi Olagunju will be elevated to the rank of Distinguished Professor.”
