Youths have been charged to take a stand against unemployment by deploying their skills creatively and profitably.
Osun State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode gave this charge on Thursday.
This was just as the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) trained 200 youths on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills.
Egbemode enjoined the beneficiaries of the Technical Training Empowerment to make entrepreneurship their goal as paid employment may not take them to their desired end.
She advised the beneficiaries to form an enclave of solution providers, and align their deliverables with the policies and programmes of the Oyetola-led government in Osun, which she described as youth-friendly.
The representative of the trainees, Folorunsho Kolade, lauded the government of the State of Osun for its favourable programmes and policies targeted at youths.
He also commended the social responsibility drive of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation and how the 10-day training has impacted them greatly.
Part of the focus of the training include – electronic system security, PBX (intercom), automobile diagnosis, router services, IPTV, among others.
