Yield Africa organizes online training, harps on youth empowerment
One of the Frontline Non-governmental organizations, Yield Africa has organized an online training to empower youth on various skill acquisition.
The workshop which took place on Telegram, and other media platforms, was aimed at creating opportunities for unemployed youths.
Unvieling the rationale behind the training, the Director Yield Africa foundation, Mr Olatunde Martins revealed that, the idea was conceived as part of the foundation effort to ameliorate the effect of COVID-19 and strengthen the youths.
According to him, it’s part of our realistic measure to reduce the pain inflicted on the people, especially the youths during the COVID-19 pandemic which affects the nation’s economy.
He said, the skyrocketing rate of unemployment among the youths, has made skills acquisition becoming an alternative for job Creation.
Speaking further, he said the foundation offers to train 820 unemployed Youths and Business Owners on a 10-Day Online Workshop, aimed at encouraging the Youths to be resourceful, self-reliant and employable.
Martins noted that the training which was initially scheduled to run for 10days and focus on 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State respectively, later snowballed into a month training.
“The online training was aimed at training 10,000 youths on 3D Animation, Video editing, among others, to create business opportunities for unemployed youths and empower youths for future task.
Also charging the successful participants, one of the facilitators, Barnabas Adeshina advised them to maximize the acquire skills and awarded certificate.
He advised them to maximize vocational skills and training with every opportunity, while working towards making the world a better place for us to live.
