World Bank Country Director visits Kogi, pledges enhanced partnership

The newly appointed Country Director of the World Bank in Nigeria, Dr. Ndiame Diop has paid a working visit to the Kogi State government.

Diop’s visit is his first high-level dialogue with any state governor in Nigeria to initiate since he assumed the role.

The new World Bank Country Director, expressed his commitment to enhancing cooperation and partnership with the Kogi State government.

He affirmed his dedication to working closely with Governor Ododo to expedite the implementation of ongoing World Bank projects and programs in the state.

In his remarks, the Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration with the World Bank Group to drive development projects in key sectors of the state’s economy.

Ododo highlighted the need for expanded cooperation in critical areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure.

This collaboration he said is aimed to bolster the overall social and economic development of Kogi State.

Governor Ododo also advocated for a programmatic approach to all World Bank interventions, aligning with the state’s 30-year Development Agenda of shared hope and prosperity.

According to the Governor the strategic alignment will ensure better coordination of projects and programs within the state.
