Benue State Governor, Samurai Orton has revealed that he was denied of numerous benefits by the Federal Government at the expense of the Benue people.

Ortom also called on the Benue people to desist from the habit of insulting Benue leaders, especially the incoming Governor of Benue State whom he will hand over to in the next few days.

Ortom made the disclosure during the commissioning of Tse -Uganden Akaazua road by His Royal Highness Tor Tiv,   Professor James Ayatse.

He lamented over the fabricated lies and falsehood levelled and spread against leaders whom Benue people have entrusted the mandate to lead them.

He insisted that the insults should end with him as the Governor and not to be extended to the next Governor whom he will be handling over to in the next few days.

The Governor further explained that the Federal Government had deliberatly denied him as the Governor of the State several benefits that were beneficial to the people of the State on the ground of his firm stand on issues that affect the State and Nigeria at large.

“The Benue N42billion loan facility domiciled in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and another N20billiion development loan approved for the State also domiciled in CBN, I was denied access to the funds  by political opponent who never meant well for the State.

“They feel if I access the funds and clear workers arrears and pension, the glory will be massive alongside credit to my administration,” Orttom explained.

Earlier,  Tor  Tiv, professor James Ayatse enumerated numerous achievements recorded by the Ortom-led administration in the past eight years and added that the traditional institutions in Benue remain supportive to him even as he is about to leave office as the Governor.

He tasked Benue people to always pray for their leaders to succeed rather than criticising and insulting them falsely.

Chief Uganden, Tor Jeghchira whom Governor Ortom constructed the road that links his maternal home, thanked the Governor for the honour done him and blessed him for more success in his future endeavours.
