Wema Bank empowers female staff with ‘Bloom, Lady, Bloom’ workshop

Wema Bank, through its women’s network, the Wema Women Network, partnered with Evolve with Edememe to deliver the “Bloom, Lady, Bloom” Workshop on 30 July 2025, offering female employees a transformative experience designed to help them reconnect with themselves, overcome imposter syndrome, and build confidence to excel in their personal and professional lives.
The three-hour interactive session was facilitated by Edememe Oladiji-Wusu, Founder of Evolve with Edememe, a Confidence and Visibility Coach, and former Director at KPMG. It was anchored on the Bloom, Lady, Bloom Workbook, a practical transformation guide created by her organisation.
Participants engaged in reflective exercises, open dialogue, and actionable strategies that equipped them with tools to dismantle limiting beliefs and embrace growth. Many attendees described the workshop as “phenomenal,” “incredible,” “insightful,” and “transformational.”
For Wema Bank, the programme underscored its commitment to fostering gender equity and supporting women to thrive. A representative of the Wema Women Network expressed enthusiasm about the impact:
“Today has been phenomenal! Wema Women Network was established in 2013 to empower women across the organisation to succeed in all areas of life and career. The ‘Bloom, Lady, Bloom’ Workshop, in partnership with Evolve with Edememe, has encouraged our women to overcome limitations, embrace their strengths, and pursue their ambitions with confidence. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from members of the network nationwide.”
Speaking about the collaboration, Oladiji-Wusu stressed the importance of unlocking the potential of women for Africa’s transformation.
“When women step into their full potential, organisations and societies prosper. It was inspiring to witness the women of Wema Bank embrace the invitation to bloom unapologetically, and it was an honour to walk this journey with them,” she said.
The success of the initiative demonstrates how organisations can empower women by creating intentional spaces that promote reflection, nurture self-assurance, and unlock potential.
