ValueJet to begin direct Lagos-Banjul flight May 15

Nigerian private airline, ValueJet, has announced the commencement of direct flights between Lagos and Banjul, The Gambia, starting from May 15.
The airline’s Managing Director and Accountable Manager, Capt. Omololu Majekodunmi, shared the news in a statement issued on Thursday in Lagos.
Majekodunmi explained that the new route aims to strengthen regional trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.
He noted that the flights would provide a crucial air link between Nigeria and The Gambia, enhancing access to the growing tourism sector in The Gambia and bolstering economic ties between the two countries.
The Lagos-Banjul flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, with departures at 9:00 p.m. and arrivals at 11:30 p.m. Return flights from Banjul will leave at 12:30 a.m. on Mondays and Fridays, reaching Lagos at 5:00 a.m.
Majekodunmi confirmed that the flights will depart from the new terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, and tickets are already available for purchase on the airline’s website.
“The launch of our Lagos-Banjul route marks a significant milestone in ValueJet’s efforts to improve connectivity and travel options across West Africa,” he said.
“We are excited to help bridge distances and create new opportunities for trade and tourism between Nigeria, The Gambia, and the broader region.”
He stressed that ValueJet remains committed to enhancing intra-African travel, with plans to further expand its network along the West African coast.
“This new service underscores our commitment to providing safe, reliable, and convenient air travel throughout the region,” Majekodunmi added.
