UNILAG College of Medicine inducts 42 Physiotherapists

The Department of Physiotherapy, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, on Thursday in Lagos inducted 42 Physiotherapists at the Old Great Hall of the College.

The Provost, Prof. David Oke who celebrated the inductees for their excellent performance in his welcome address, said that 10 persons graduated with distinction in the 2019/2020 session.

He charged the inductees to dream big, act with courage and dare to change their world.

“Develop the habit of excellence, make excellence your watch word; ask questions where you do not know and seek the right answers to make a difference in whatever you do.

“Make a choice each day to be the best at what you do and to give your best to any situation,” he said.

Oke said that the problems in the health care delivery system of the college are complex and interwoven.

He said that it would need collaboration of physiotherapists, physicians and scientists in the clinical and basic sciences to advance the frontiers of medical knowledge.

Earlier, the College Secretary, Dr Olayinka Obafemi-Moses charged the inductees to be worthy ambassadors of the university anywhere they are.

He urged them to work hard, be smart and prove their mettles as physiotherapists who had been well baked.

Obafemi-Moses advised the inductees to let selflessness in service delivery be their watchword.

“Remember you came in as raw materials, today, you have become good thinking and good products.

“Let your light shine because if you stay in the dark and wink at somebody, no one will know what you are doing,” he said.
