Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed 24 fighters from Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a series of coordinated offensives across the North-East between 4 and 9 July 2025.

The operations, carried out with the support of the Nigerian Air Force, the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), and local hunters, targeted insurgent movements and strongholds in Borno State.

Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Captain Reuben Kovangiya, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Thursday.

According to the Army, troops ambushed terrorists attempting to move from the Sambisa Forest to the Timbuktu Triangle at Platari on 4 July, killing three fighters during the encounter.

In a separate operation in the Komala area, troops recovered motorcycles, knapsack sprayers, pesticides, and food supplies after neutralising another insurgent.

Two terrorists transporting logistics were also intercepted and killed during a night mission in Konduga Local Government Area.

On 5 July, security forces foiled an attempted infiltration of the Madarari Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp. One militant was gunned down during the engagement.

A further ambush was executed on 6 July at the Ngoshe-Gava and Amuda-Gava crossing points, where one suspected terrorist was killed.

The CJTF also took part in the offensive, eliminating six insurgents in separate ambushes across Ngailda, Manjim, and Wulle villages.

On 9 July, troops stormed and cleared terrorist enclaves at Tangalanga and Bula Marwa, killing three militants and destroying their hideouts.

Recovered weapons and equipment included six AK-47 rifles, 47 magazines, and 90 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

Captain Kovangiya stated that the operations reflect the unwavering resolve of the Nigerian military and its partners to dismantle terrorist networks and restore lasting peace to the region.
