Teachers recruitment: APC labels scheme deceptive

• Osun People don’t need lectures from party of half-salaries’– Accord fires back
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has dismissed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s planned recruitment of teachers as mere political talk designed to deceive the public, a claim that has drawn a stinging rebuke from the Accord Party.
The controversy erupted on Wednesday following the Governor’s directive to issue appointment letters to a new batch of teachers.
The APC, through its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, questioned the sincerity of the administration, citing the controversial dismissal of 1,500 teachers employed by the previous government.
“There is nothing suggestive of the genuineness of Governor Adeleke to replace the 1,500 teachers recruited by his predecessor, which he maliciously sacked through vindictiveness,” the APC stated.
The opposition party argued that the people of Osun are fed up with what it described as constant falsehoods from the government aimed at covering up inefficiency.
However, the Accord Party ridiculed the APC’s posture, describing the opposition’s newfound concern for education as deeply ironic.
In a reaction signed by James Bamgbose, Deputy Director of the Accord Media Office, the party accused the APC of suffering from selective memory.
Bamgbose argued that the APC lacks the moral standing to criticize the current process, having presided over an era of half salaries and politicized recruitment.
“The APC’s claim that Governor Ademola Adeleke is insincere… is deeply ironic,” Bamgbose said. “This is the same party that hurriedly recruited teachers as an election stunt, failed to provide sustainable funding, and left the system bloated and disorganized.”
The Accord Party further slammed the APC for being intellectually lazy regarding the Executive Order that nullified the previous appointments, insisting that the Adeleke administration chose legality and sustainability over illegality masked as compassion.
“Osun people do not need lectures on education from a party that normalized half salaries, politicized recruitment, and crippled public schools,” the statement added.
