Strike: Osun JUSUN reiterates commitment to actualise demands

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Osun State Chapter, in its on-going strike, has reaffirmed its commitment to actualising its demands over unpaid benefits and delayed promotions.
In a statement on Thursday, the chapter’s chairman, Idris Adeniran, declared that the union would not compromise its legitimate struggle despite attempts to misrepresent its position on the ongoing strike.
He emphasised that the strike remains indefinite and that members would not allow any effort to weaken their unity.
“We stand firm in our demand for justice and fairness for all JUSUN members, particularly concerning promotions, welfare issues, and other entitlements that are long overdue,” Adeniran said.
He insisted that the strike would continue until the Osun Chief Judge addressed the demands, stressing that the position of members remained unwavering.
The chapter had earlier embarked on a three-day warning strike before directing its members on Sept. 19 to withdraw their services indefinitely over unpaid entitlements.
The industrial action also aims to compel the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to address pending promotions for 2024 and 2025, while ensuring training opportunities for staff.
Adeniran reiterated that until these demands were met, members would remain resolute in their action.
