Stop attacking Tinubu’s govt, Osun APC tells Adeleke

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned the administration of Gov. Ademola Adeleke to stop its alleged campaign of calumny against the administration of Pres. Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The party said the Tinubu administration has been making efforts to improve the living conditions of Nigerians.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the party said it was inappropriate for Gov. Adeleke to criticise the Federal Government, which it described as a major support to states through increased allocations and other revenue sources.

According to the party, “It is not an overstatement to conclude that the Accord Party-led administration of Gov. Adeleke is guilty of gross misrepresentation of facts to misinform the people and gain undue sympathy.

“It is disheartening that the state Commissioner for Education, Mr Dipo Eluwole, stated on a radio programme in Osogbo that the Federal Government has been withholding allocations meant for the state, when this is not the case.

“Is Eluwole unaware that there is no truth in claims that the Federal Government is withholding local government allocations meant for the state?

“It is also surprising that the commissioner and his team appear unaware that reinstated APC local government chairmen are beneficiaries of the Feb. 10, 2025 Court of Appeal judgment, which granted all prayers of the APC state executives, currently performing their duties across local government areas.

“The Adeleke administration also claimed during the programme that rainstorms damaged some buildings at the State Technical College, Osogbo, and appealed to stakeholders for assistance.

“However, it raises concerns whether individuals would be willing to support an administration alleged to have spent over N600M on the reconstruction of a shrine in Ede.

“It is also misleading to suggest that the government stopped school feeding due to issues with local government allocations, as the programme reportedly lasted only three months.

“The claim that Osun State has become a model among states is not supported by verifiable evidence.

“The administration’s promise to employ more teachers in a second term suggests it has no immediate plans for employment, especially as the Aug. 15, 2026 governorship election approaches.

“The APC candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), is expected to challenge the incumbent in the election.

“The Commissioner for Environment, Mr Mayowa Adejoorin, also needs to clarify his statement that dumping waste on road medians is illegal, while government vehicles are sometimes seen collecting waste from such locations.

“The state-wide accountability radio programme, aired across stations, appears to have yielded little impact despite the resources committed to it,” the statement added.
