Sen Adeola dumps Governorship ambition for Dapo Abiodun

…Says Abiodun will serve another term

The Senator representing Lagos West in the Senate, Solomon Adeola Olamilekan, during a recent visit to Ogun West Senatorial District, declared the District’s decision to re-elect Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

Recall that the Senator had earlier disclosed his ambition to contest  Ogun Governorship election in 2019 which was allegedly opposed by immediate past Governor of Ogun State Senator Ibikunle Amosun on account of indigene’s controversy.

Senator Olamilekan thanked Governor Abiodun just as he voiced the unanimous decision of the people of Ogun West Senatorial District to re-elect the Governor to serve another four-year tenure.

Speaking at an event earlier in the week, he said, “I thank God Almighty who has made today possible, and also counted us worthy to witness this gathering today.

“I thank the Governor of Ogun State, my boss, leader, father and elder brother whom I’m representing today, Prince Adedapo Abiodun, the Executive Governor of Ogun State. Thanks be to God.

“There are just two reasons for which we’re gathered here today. Of the two, the more important, which I heard of clearly, is that, we the entire Ogun West Senatorial District, have agreed that our Governor, Prince Adedapo Abiodun Oluwaseun, will serve one more term,” he said..

As the second term in the Senate draws to an end, the Senator is reported to be planning to ‘port’ from Lagos to Ogun to continue his purported ‘sit-tight disposition’ at the National Assembly.

While in Ilaro for his declaration, the sitting Lagos Senator said he had transferred his Permanent Voter’s Card from Lagos to Ogun, adding that he has also registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Gateway State.

Before now, there had been controversies over Adeola’s origin as many doubt his claims of being an indigene of Yewa in Ogun.

In 2015, he made an attempt to become the Senator of Ogun West but this was unsuccessful; making him relocate to Lagos West for the senatorial ticket.

In the build-up to the 2019 elections, Yayi returned for a governorship ambition in Ogun State, winning more supporters.
