Sen. Adeola donates multi-million naira pavilion, 19 transformers, four buses, school furniture to mark 53rd birthday

As if to assure the residents of Ogun West senatorial district of better days ahead should he be given the opportunity to represent them at the Senate in 2023, Sen Adeola Olamilekan Solomon on Wednesday, donated multi-million naira pavilion to the people of Ilaro, headquarters of Yewa South local government to mark his 53rd birthday.

Sen Adeola Olamilekan, the Chairman Senate Committee on Finance who currently represents Lagos West on the platform of APC but with ambition to represent Ogun West Senatorial district in 2023 also donated four 18-seater buses to the Market women, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), League of Imams and Council of Baales.

The Lagos West Senator who had since moved back to Ogun State and picked the 2023 APC ticket for Ogun West senatorial district also used the occasion to present 1500 school chairs and tables to 10 selected schools as well as 19 transformers for the rural electrification project.

The programme which was held at the newly built magnificent pavilion had in attendance Council of Yewa Traditional Rulers led by the Paramount ruler and Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle.

Other political leaders at the event were Chief Mrs Iyabode Apampa, former, Chairperson, Ogun/Osun River Basin Authority, Chief Ajibola, former Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Rt. Hon Suraj Adekunbi, immediate past Speaker of the state assembly, Chief Adesina, Chairman, APC, Ogun Central among others.

Presenting the items to the beneficiary communities, the Director-General, Senator Adeola Campaign Organization, Dr. Kunle Salako said the donation was in Sen. Adeola’s characteristics manner of making life more meaningful to the people of Yewaland.

Salako noted that, Senator Adeola fondly called Yayi has decided to use this year’s birthday celebration to further impact on some critical areas of Ogun West and indeed Ogun State socio-economic sectors: Education, Power Distribution and Religious and Grassroots Organisation.

He explained that, the school furniture will be donated to 10 selected Secondary Schools across the five local government areas’ of Ogun West to ameliorate the learning comfort and safekeeping of learning items to over 1500 students.

According to him, the schools were selected based on recommendation of volunteers’ teachers who went round before recommending the schools with the most need.

Dr. Salako added that the donation of three 300KVA/33KWA, five 500KVA/11KWA and twelve 500KVA/33KWA electric transformers to 200 communities and Community Development Committees and Area (CDAs) across the five local governments of Ogun West Senatorial District was to ameliorate the suffering of the communities who are without power supply for over five years.

He, therefore, called on the entire Yewa people to vote Senator Adeola Yayi as representative of the Senatorial District at the 10th National Assembly.

Salako, who is the Central Chairman, West2West4DA Movement, said the trio of Tinubu, Abiodun and Adeola have the interest of Ogun West at heart and would not hesitate at investing anything to help the Senatorial district transformed into an enviable height of other geo-political areas of the state.

“Going forward therefore, if we want to continue to enjoy this kind of life changing intervention in multiple folds in Ogun West, we should know what to do.

“Let us support the emergence of new Federal Government of Nigeria in 2023 headed by somebody who knows Ogun West, who have visited Ogun West and who relates with Ogun West.

“Let us support a governor in Oke-Mosan who respects Ogun West, who cares about Ogun West and who will not because of politics join to call one of our illustrious son a stranger. Let us support that gubernatorial candidate who will not ask for his own 8 years after 2023 or who is ‘just in the race to negotiate for his political future.

“Let us tap the experience and network of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi by sending him to Abuja with our votes to represent Ogun West in the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

In his address, the Director-General, National Productivity Centre, Abuja, Dr. Kashim Akor maintained that the empowerment programme was part of the intervention programmes by the Federal Government to eradicate crimes among the youths.

Dr. Akor noted that, the pavilion would serve as recreation centre for the youths, adding that the donation of transformers is just the first phase, while the second phase of the empowerment programme would commence soonest.

He urged other towns and communities not captured in the first phase of the empowerment to exercise patience and support the federal government’s poverty alleviation intervention programmes.
