Sanwo-Olu vows Lagos will remain safe as security council reports strong coordination

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents and visitors that Lagos will remain peaceful, following a routine Security Council meeting at the State House, Marina, on Wednesday.
This was contained in a statement signed by Gbenga Omotoso, Head of Information & Strategy.
It reads partly: "Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu this morning convened a meeting of the Security Council. The Council, which comprises heads of Security agencies in the state, met at the State House, Marina.
“At the routine meeting, which was chaired by Mr Sanwo-Olu, were the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 9 Brigade, Brig.-Gen. A.O. Owolabi, Group Capt. M.A. Imam, Commander 651 BSG, Nigerian Air Force, Commander NNS Beecroft Naval Base, Apapa, Commodore PP Nimmyel, Commissioner of Police Olohundare Moshood, representative of the Department State Services Director, A.B. Alade, Secretary to the State Government Barr. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, Chief of Staff to the Governor Tayo Ayinde, Chief Security Officer to the Governor CSP Fagbemi Adekunle, and Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) Executive Secretary Ayo Ogunsan.
After being briefed by the security chiefs, the Governor expressed his satisfaction with their reports and urged them to ensure that Lagos remains peaceful for residents and all visitors. Besides, he assured all Lagosians and visitors that the Yuletide will truly be a season of goodwill."*
At the meeting, security chiefs provided detailed briefings on operations, threat assessments, and measures being implemented to protect lives and property across Lagos State.
Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed satisfaction with the high level of coordination among the agencies, stressing that collaborative efforts are critical to maintaining peace in Africa’s commercial hub.
He further urged the security operatives to maintain vigilance during the festive season, emphasising that Lagosians and visitors should feel safe while enjoying the Yuletide period.
The Governor reiterated that the Security Council remains committed to proactive surveillance, rapid response, and seamless cooperation across all agencies to prevent any disruption of public order.
