Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday received the 36 state chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Lagos House, Marina, as they concluded their two-day working tour of Lagos State.
During the visit, the party leaders praised the state’s remarkable transformation and pledged to replicate its development initiatives across the country.
The visit marked the final event of a programme organised by the Lagos State chapter of the APC under the leadership of its chairman, Barr. Cornelius Ojelabi.
The initiative was designed to expose party leaders from across the federation to landmark infrastructure, economic, and social development projects executed by successive progressive administrations in Lagos.
Receiving the delegation, Governor Sanwo-Olu thanked the APC state chairmen for honouring the invitation to visit Lagos and expressed optimism that the experience would strengthen collaboration among party leaders while promoting the exchange of ideas on governance and development.
The governor described Lagos as a state built on a foundation of continuity in governance, strategic planning, and visionary leadership.
He noted that many of the projects toured by the delegation were the products of years of deliberate policies implemented by successive administrations.
He also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure, expanding economic opportunities, and improving the welfare of residents through investments in transportation, healthcare, education, housing, and technology.
The Governor also commended the APC leadership across the country for their commitment to the party and urged them to remain united in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The APC state chairmen, who arrived in Lagos on Friday, visited several iconic projects, including the Lekki Free Zone, the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line, the Dangote Refinery corridor, and other strategic infrastructure that have become symbols of the state’s economic growth and urban transformation.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the chairmen expressed admiration for the pace of development witnessed across Lagos, describing the state as a model of effective governance and long-term planning.
They noted that the tour provided them with firsthand knowledge of how sustained investment in infrastructure and sound policies can drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for citizens.
The delegation commended Governor Sanwo-Olu and previous administrations in Lagos for maintaining continuity in governance and ensuring that development projects were completed for the benefit of the people.
They also applauded the Lagos State APC for organising what they described as an enlightening and impactful programme, saying the tour had broadened their understanding of governance and offered practical lessons that could be adapted in other parts of the country.
The state chairmen pledged to return to their respective states and encourage the adoption of ideas and initiatives inspired by what they experienced during their visit to Lagos.
They said the infrastructure, transportation systems, investment drives, and urban renewal projects they witnessed demonstrated the importance of visionary leadership, policy consistency, and effective implementation.
According to the delegation, the experience reinforced their belief that collaboration, innovation, and continuity in governance remain critical to achieving sustainable development across Nigeria.
The meeting with Governor Sanwo-Olu brought the two-day tour to a close after a series of engagements that included visits to major development projects, interactions with party leaders, and a courtesy call on the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty Oba Rilwan Akiolu.
The programme is expected to strengthen ties among APC leaders nationwide while encouraging the replication of successful governance models that can accelerate development, create jobs, attract investment, and improve the living standards of Nigerians across the federation.
