Presidency should leave Judiciary to interpret the laws — Guru Maharaj ji

…calls for increment in Police, others salaries

The founder of One Love Family, Sat Guru Maharaj ji, has said that the presidency should leave the judiciary to interpret the laws in the country, and has called for increment in police and other military salaries.

Speaking during the weekend in a press briefing, the spiritual leader said Buhari shouldn’t see himself as president of the Fulani, Igbo, Yoruba or Itsekeri, he must see himself as father of all and wake up to Nigerians’ plea.

Maharaj Ji, while speaking on insecurity said the government must be nice to Nigerians, the three arms of government must be very effective, the National assembly must pass laws for the good of Nigerians, also judiciary must not be sidelined, whereby they are not paid well.

“The government is trying but more needs to be done. How will you detain a journalist, saying his offence is hate speech, we want a government of transparence which President Buhari represents.

“I have recommended that police salary should be N250,000 with free accommodation, Nigerian Army N350,000 with accommodation.

“So you won’t see them going to aid chairman of local government because the country is taking good care of them with the salary amenities.

“Also price control should be looked into. The government should regulate everything so that both the elite and the poor can go to the same market to buy goods.

“The judiciary also needs to check the constituency funds released, how much do they take and what they are doing with it and make a forensic account check.”

Also reacting on the arrest of the Yoruba rights activists, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho, he said, “I was never arrested.”

“I have told everybody violence is not the key, except we want to go back to colonization. The  same thing with Sunday Igboho, I have never heard that he killed somebody with  gun or cutlass, I love him for who he are.

“But the government should give chance for people like them because they also have the love of their people at mind, what they are saying is that the government needs to wake up so that President Buhari government will not fall. They are supposed to be given opportunity to secure themselves.”
