Police seek arrest of Ehimanugho Johnbull over alleged threat to life, abduction

The Edo State Police Command has launched an investigation into allegations of threat to life and abduction levelled against one Ehimanugho Johnbull by a Benin resident, Evbagharu Ehi-Ewansiha.
According to Evbagharu, Johnbull, who was a godfather to his late sister, Osarugue Joyce Ewansiha, has allegedly refused to release documents belonging to the deceased’s landed property, located at No. 22 Agbanegbe Street, Isihor, Benin City, despite persistent appeals from the family.
Trouble reportedly began when the family of the late Osarugue Joyce Ewansiha requested the documents of the property from Johnbull, a request he allegedly ignored. Evbagharu claims that all of his late sister’s properties and documents remain unlawfully in Johnbull’s possession. Despite a court order issued on 19 January 2018 mandating him to return the properties, Johnbull allegedly failed to comply.
“He has been boasting that he will kill all our family members and that nobody can do anything about it because he claims to be highly connected and wealthy,” Evbagharu alleged.
Evbagharu stated that within the period of the dispute, his aged parents, Barney Ewansiha and Ose Ewansiha, were abducted. He strongly suspects Johnbull’s involvement in their disappearance, although no direct evidence has yet been presented.
A police report confirms that an official invitation was sent to Ehimanugho Johnbull to report to the station for questioning regarding these allegations. However, he has allegedly failed to honour the invitation.
Meanwhile, the police have advised Evbagharu Ehi-Ewansiha to remain vigilant and seek protection against any possible harm while investigations continue. Authorities have also assured that efforts are ongoing to effect the arrest of Ehimanugho Johnbull.
Residents and concerned members of the public are urged to provide any useful information that could assist law enforcement in their investigation.
